Well we cant be just sitting on the beach doing nothing so we have to make our own fun to keep us occupied! Heres what we’ve been up to the last few days!

Its not only us that likes to go out for a surf now and again. Check out these dophins riding the waves in south africa! Pretty amazing stuff!
In April Hooked-on will be opening there first 2 kitesurfing schools in the UK.
Our 2 schools will be located in south wales and north Devon. Both will be mobile to allow flexibillity according to wind directions and tides.
We aim to provide quality 1 on 1 kitesurfing lessons at a competitive price. We are partnered up with best kiteboarding who will be providing the latest Best Kahoona kites. We will also have all the latest safety equipment. This will allow us to teach in the fastest and safest way.

As some of you know the last few months we have been out in Mexico working with Morph kiteboarding on a great new project out here.
The place we are in is called Tulum (just south of playa del carmen) Its an awsome place for chilling out and the kiting is amazing. Imagine a place with perfect winds but only a handful of kites on the water!…
As well as the kitesurfing we have been exploring some of the local Senotes (water caves) which are one of the most relaxing places ive ever been to. you can explore these open caves with just a snorkle and mask, apparently the water contains lithium for de-stressing (not that we need it here).

The world’s first ‘Love Kiteboarding’ celebration is to be held in Mexico this Valentine’s Day, signalling the commitment of kiting enthusiasts and local authorities to bring the sport to the Mayan Riviera.
The event – to be held on Kite Beach, Tulum – is set to attract the sport’s top professional riders, as well as kitesurfers from across the world and Mexico to celebrate and raise the profile of the sport.
Tournament organiser and Founder of Morph Kiteboarding, Tulum-based David Furchtgott said: “The ‘Love Kiteboarding’ event is not only a vibrant celebration of this hugely popular sport, but a development of the relationship between kiteboarding schools and everyone else concerned, whether local authorities, spectators, or independent riders. It is a fascinating sport that, with love and cooperation from all concerned, has an exciting future in the Mayan Riviera.
“We are aware there have been problems with kitesurfing on some beaches along the coast in the past, so this tournament allows us the opportunity to make a statement about our committment to the safety of kitesurfing for all, which when regulated properly is an enhancement of our coastline and our offering to local people and tourists. We have started talking with other kite schools, civil protection, beachside palapas and tourists, and will work tirelessly to make sure kiteboarding brings vibrancy to our beaches for the foreseeable future.
“Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to make this statement about kiteboarding, and we hope this love for the sport will continue to grow as more people continue to learn and appreciate it. ”

The ‘Love Kiteboarding’ celebration will begin on the 13th February with downwind kiting trips from Playa Paraiso towards Boca Paila. Valentine’s Day will see a celebration of kiteboarding outside Playa Azul on Kite Beach Tulum, with professional riders, kite demos, safety clinics and musical entertainment.
We are currently in Mexico in Tulum checking out the kitesurfing and helping out the guys at Morph kiteboarding on a great new project out here. Tulum is a few hours south of Cancun and is such a chilled out place. Kitesurfing here is amazing, although we havn’t had the most consistent winds when it blows it blows! The best part is you’ll never see more than 10 or so kites on the beach in the day!
The spot it pretty wavy with a few reefs that have some big waves when the swell comes it. Especially great for me when i’m attempting to ride the waves with the skim board! Last week we had some crazy winds and was the first time I’d been out on a twin tip for a while but it was worth it! Boosting some biiiig air off the waves was awsome but I did manage to snap my board after the first jump (mainly down to the diy repair it has). We’ll keep you updated on our adventures here!
